About Sathorn Unique Tower
Sathorn Unique Tower is an incomplete skyscraper in the Thai capital city of Bangkok. It's construction was halted during the 1997 Asian financial crisis and its construction could not resume even after the crisis was over. Over the years it has become a magnet for urban explorers and also referred as the ghost tower by some because it has turned a little scary and creepy. The State Tower rises on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Its façade with hundreds of curved balconies and thousands of pillars have a mesmerizing effect on the eye. From the 35th floor up the construction gets less and less complete. Fewer railings on the balconies, open shafts for plumbing and no more wooden floors but only concrete with holes in it. All this adds up to the haunted sites of the tower. Just 500 meters down the road, to the south, is its sister building, the Sathorn Unique Tower.
