About Erawan Museum
Erawan Museum is located in Samut Prakan Province which is an eccentric collection of varied art crafts of Thai ancient age. It is best known for its giant three-headed elephant art display which is made up of bronze. The elephant is an epic image of Hindu mythology’s Airavata which means elephant. It is a splendid towering beast, 250 tons in weight, 29 meters high and 39 meters long. It took almost 10 years to construct it. There are antiquities and priceless collections of ancient religious objects inside the tower. The museum is a fantastic combination of fine arts, structural layout and natural environment. It is an important structure and opening door to Thai culture. It creates a historic environment for visitors to perceive and appreciate the continuity of the heritage conservation. Visitors can wallow around in the tranquility of Erawan’s lush tropical gardens appreciating its beauty and historical importance.
