About Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary
Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary is about 65 KMs from Ahmedabad and comprises of a large lake which is visted by numerous migratory birds during November to February. Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary is home to well over 200 species of migratory birds. Lake is spread over an area of 125 sq kms and has a variety of flora and fauna. Apart from birds, wild animals like wild ass and blackbuck are also found in the sanctuary.
A birdwathcer's delight, in 1969, the Nalsarovar lake and the wetlands around it were declared a bird sanctuary. Nalsarovar lake and the wetlands is largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat. Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary is close to Sanand Village. Boats are the best means to watch the birds.
