About Kanyakumari
Kanyakumari is located in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kanyakumari is the southern tip of mainland India and surrounded on three sides by Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal. The city is also known as “God’s own district.” which is situated near it. Kanyakumari takes its name from the eponymous goddess Kunyakumari whose ‘Devi Kanya Kumari Temple’ is situated here. An ancient center of pearl fishing, it has been a center of art and religion for centuries. There are many temples and attractions to see around the town. Baywatch Amusement Park provides a more light-hearted alternative. This city is also known as the evergreen city of India.

Fly into south India at Trivandrum in Kerala. From there, train, bus or taxi can help you reach Kanyakumari. The travel time is about three hours. Some travelers also reach Kanyakumari from Chennai. From Chennai, the travel time by the road is around fourteen to fifteen hours. Kanyakumari is well connected by train and this is a more comfortable option than bus, especially for long journeys. Long distance buses connect Kanyakumari to all the major south Indian cities
