Thuparama Dagoba , Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka
About Thuparama Dagoba
Dagoba of Thuparama is one of the many holiest shrines of Anuradhapura. It stores the right collar bone of Lord Buddha which was brought by Mahinda Thera, son of Ashoka, and gave it to the then king Devanampiyatissa who enshrined the Relic by building a Stupa over it. This Dagoba, dating back to 3rd century BC, is the oldest one in the country as it was built during the earliest days of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It had gone through many destructions and renovations
