About Singapore Zoo
Singapore Zoo is one of a kind. Especially as it’s considered an open zoo. Yes, a zoo which makes use of little to no cages. Animals are protectively kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures & are separated from the visitors by dry as well as wet moats. On the other hand, dangerous animals are separated by glass enclosures. The zoo offers various means of mobility within the premises such as trams, animals, boats, ponies and horse carriage rides. Animals seen in the zoo include gnu, white tiger, sun bear, spider monkey and more. The zoo is home to the largest captive colony of orangutans in the world. Due to its openness, interactions between animals and humans are friendly, caring and fun. Famous shows to go for include "Rainforest Fights Back”, “Splash Safari”, “Elephants Work and Play” & “Animal Friends”. One can meet and interact closely with the zoo’s orangutans via “Breakfast with the Orangutan”.
