Telangana as a state has a very rich bio-diversity and hence, is home to many sanctuaries and wildlife reserves. One such beautiful sanctuary is Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary. Located 250 KMs from Hyderabad in Warangal district, it is one of the oldest sanctuaries of Telangana, declared in the year 1952.
This place displays nature’s beauty at its best- steep slopes to gentle slopes from west to east, hilly with many streams and springs and the Godavari River passing right through the sanctuary. In such a wonderful atmosphere wildlife is bound to thrive. Dayyam Vagu, a perennial water source divides Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary into almost two halves. It is home to a large variety of animals including Tiger, Wolf, Jackals, Leapords, Sloth bear, Blackbuck, Sambar deer and many more.
Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to spend your holiday in if you are an appreciator of the wild. The best season to visit this place is October- may. You don’t want to be caught in rain here!
