About Amaralingeswara Swamy Temple
Amareswara Temple or Amaralingeswara Swamy temple is located at a distance of 35 km from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is situated on the banks of River Krishna. Lord Shiva is worshipped here. On the walls, many inscriptions are present which provide information about the rulers of this place. There is also a big linga which is 15 feet tall and increases the majestic beauty of this temple. If you will observe closely, you will notice that this temple has an influence of Buddhist architecture. This is because it is believed that there was a Buddhist temple which was later converted for Hindu worship. There is always a huge rush during the festivals and the best time to visit is October – March.
