About Galgibaga Beach
Galgibaga Beach situated between Galjibaga and Talpona rivers in the Canacona at Agonda is the kind of place you must visit if you are in the mood to avoid crowds and get in touch with your inner self in general and gorgeous Goa in particular. The beach here is practically isolated and there is nothing to do here except relax at the beachside with a cool drink in your hand and wind in your hair. The Arabian hardly ever looks so blue and the sands never seem to sparkle so. Located between a hillock and Arabian waters, this 1 kilometer long beach is quite untouched. Sea surfing here is simply amazing. If you are an explorer, feel free to rent a scooter and roam around to your heart's content.
Do pay a visit to the Shri Kali Ashram. It’s a really nice place. If you're a foodie, you are in for a great deal of fun because Sea food this modestly priced never tasted too grand. A nature lover should not miss out on gorging the sight of the sun setting on the Galgibaga horizon but the place becomes a total dream during the monsoons. Misty and grey, this place practically shines during this season. Wildlife lovers should keep their fingers crossed because if they are lucky, they will get to see the Olive Ridley turtles. This beach is a protection ground for these wonderful and lovable creatures who are unfortunately quite threatened.
Galjibaga beach is also called turtle beach as the Olive Ridley turtles visit the coastline to lay their eggs during season. This south Goa beach is close to Agonda, Palolem and Morjim beaches and there are very few options for stay or eat on or around this beach. Spending time at Galgibaga will put you at rest because beauty is a most time-tested soul-soother.
