About Bait Al Naboodah Museum
A residential house until 1970, Bait Al Naboodah was transformed into a museum which is an archetype of the houses of olden times. Built in 1845, the building was the residence of a pearl merchant whose name the museum bears today. The museum is enchanting, offering glimpses of the life style, traditions and interior Emirati architecture of the old houses. There are many crafts, items imported from various parts of the world. Appreciate the intricate designs of the house, its carpets brought from Turkey, its musical instruments, the toys made of clothes and palm wood, cars made of oil tin cans etc., which all provide a deep understanding of the materials used by those people when technology was not yet born.
