About Eklakhi Mausoleum
The Eklakhi Mausoleum is beautiful brick-built monuments of orange bricks but dome is of brown and grey colour with garden surrounding the place. It is located in Pandua region near the Adina Mosque which was built in 15th century. The walls are beautifully decorated and ornamented. The white marble tombs tomb belongs to Jalaluddin his wife and son. Interiorly it is octagonal and has dome shaped structure.
Eklakhi Mausoleum used to be a tomb of Hindu Raja, who converted to Islam and that is why the door way has Ganesh structure carved on it though it is a mausoleum. Since the expenditure then came to Rupees One Lakh, so the name ekhlakhi is suggestive of the monument itself. This place is 15 kms away from Malda and trains are available till Malda take 7-8 hours since it is 340 kms away appproxiamtely. Bus service is available for the place. Private cars and taxies can be hired as per convenience of people. There are other sites nearby such as Qutb Shahi Masjid, Adina Masjid, firoz minar and Dakhil Darwaja that can also be seen.
