About Kutch Bustard Sanctuary
Kutch Bustard Sanctuary, home to the Great Indian Bustard, was established in 1992. It is a small area, about 2 sq kms in size, near Nalia in Kutch. Besides this endangered bird, the sanctuary is also haven to several other birds and smaller mammals. The sanctuary is a good place to visit for an eco-tourist and is best visited from late monsoon to winter. Bhuj is the nearest airport, about 110 kms away and it is accessible by rail and road via Nalia, which is about 20 kms away.
