About Nokrek National Park
Part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve list, Nokrek National Park in Meghalaya is one of the last remaining homes of the endangered red pandas. The nearest city is Tura, about 45 kms and the nearest town is William Nagar that offers a few options for accommodation. Several species of wildlife call Nokrek their home, including the Asian elephant, stump-tailed macaque, pig-tailed macaque and hoolocks. Siju Cave is is another famous attractions located close to the Nophak Lake near the Someshwari River (Simsang River) game reserve.
