Tshechu- the auspicious festival of Thimphu is a four day festival celebrated by performing mask dances (known as Cham dances).
Major attraction of Thimphu includes Trashi Chhoe Dzong (or famously known as Thimphu Dzong), the Thimphu Chorten, The National Folk Heritage museum and the Royal Botanical Garden. Also, The Authentic Bhutanesse Crafts bazzar situated in its centre is like an open window of the art and craft of this Himalayan kingdom. All you could say is, this city is an unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions.
