Explore the more than 100 Buddhist caves popularly known as the Kanheri Caves deeply nestled among the soothing surroundings of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in chaotic Mumbai City. Get the insight into rise and decline of Buddhism through the Buddhist sculptures and relief carvings, paintings and inscriptions, dating from the 1st century BCE to the 10th century CE on these caves. Caves are simple single or multiple-cell monasteries, devoid of any decorations and meant for simple living, studying and meditating.

Itinerary
- The guests will be received from their hotel within 10 km radius of Mumbai by 8:00 am.
- The guide cum host for the tour will meet the guests here and after a quick introduction, start the journey towards Kanheri caves.
- The journey to Kanheri caves is about 60 km from the city centre and may take up to 1.5 hours.
- The drive goes by the Sanjay Gandhi National Park's forest, heading deep into the forest to reach the Kanheri Caves.
- The area as over 100 Buddhist caves to explore and this collection of caves and rock-cut monuments is known as the Kanheri Caves.
- One of the bigger cave also houses the Stupa, congregation hall supported by huge stone pillars and a dagoba or Buddhist shrine.
- The drive back to Mumbai city will start in time to reach back by lunchtime.
- At the end of the tour, the guests will be dropped back at the hotel. Expected time to reach is 1:00 pm.

- After 5 hours, additional per hour charges are applicable (to be paid directly to the guide in cash).
