  • Mantralayam, or Manthralaya, is a pilgrim village located in Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh. It lies on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. The village is known for the Brindavan of Raghavendra Swamy, a saint who lived in the 17th century and who entered into a samadhi alive in front of his disciples. Thousands of people visit the Raghavendra Matth and temples. In this tour, visit pilgrim sites like Lepakshi and Mantralayam and get blessings from God.

Mantralayam & Lepakshi Sightseeing Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Bangalore to Mantralayam

  • Depart from Bangalore early in the morning. The distance between Bangalore and Mantralayam is approximately 350 kilometers and takes around 6-7 hours.
  • Arrive at Mantralayam by afternoon and check into your hotel.
  • After refreshing, head to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, the main attraction in Mantralayam. This is the holy shrine of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, a revered saint and devotee of Lord Vishnu.
  • Spend some time exploring the temple complex and attending any rituals or poojas that might be happening.
  • In the evening, you can take a stroll along the Tungabhadra River, which flows near the temple. The riverbank offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere for relaxation.
  • Dinner and an overnight stay in Mantralayam.

Day 2: Mantralayam to Lepakshi and Return to Bangalore

  • After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart for Lepakshi, which is around 150 kilometers from Mantralayam. It takes approximately 3–4 hours to reach Lepakshi.
  • Arrive at Lepakshi by late morning and visit the famous Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple, Kurugunta. This temple dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra is located in the nearby village of Kurugunta. It's known for its annual Rathotsava (chariot festival), celebrated with great fervor by the local community.
    Don't miss the iconic hanging pillar and the massive Nandi statue.
  • Explore the surrounding areas and visit the Lepakshi Nandi (a large monolithic bull statue) and the Lepakshi Nandi Hills for panoramic views of the countryside.
  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Lepakshi, where you can savor some authentic Andhra cuisine.
  • After lunch, start your journey back to Bangalore.
  • Depending on the time of your return, you can make a quick stop at Nandi Hills, a popular hill station near Bangalore, to catch the sunset and enjoy the scenic beauty.
