About Louvre Abu Dhabi
Louvre Abu Dhabi, is yet to finish museum perched on the eastern edge of the Saadiyat Island, the Cultural district of the emirate, is set to establish the emirate as well as UAE as the cultural capital of the world. The museum is yet to open to visitors, scheduled for this December 2016. Besides being a gem of architecture, this museum is also unique in its concept. Not confining to a particular time and culture, this museum displays the cultures, arts and archaeological works of greatest civilizations of the world in a chronological order. This will be the first universal museum in the Middle East. The museum takes you back to the four major periods in the history of the world: archaeology and the birth of civilization, Medieval days and the birth of Islam, Classical period from Humanism to enlightenment, and Modern and contemporary art. Objects and manuscripts of historical significance will be showcased in this museum. With universality as the central concept, this museum is surely to be considered as the Beacon of knowledge.
